Journal - Where are you right now on your "Who Do You Think You Are" project? What did you do over the break for the project? Did you interview anyone? Use the checklist below to figure out what you have finished, what you are still working on and what you still have to do.

I am currently on the infographic on my "Who Do You Think You Are" project. I kind of forgot to do my interviews, I know who I will ask though and will get it done by this week. I still have to finish my interviews and infographic, then do the five frame story board and blogger post.

1. Regan Hamilton- Miniature Pets- I think she put a lot of work into it and it looked cool.

2. Zoe Krump- Markers- It looked "swag" and there was a lot of effort put into it.

Journal - How did you stop motion animation turn out? If you could give it a grade, what would you give it out of 60 points? What did you learn from creating this video?

I think my animation turned out not as good as I thought. It had too much shaking from picture to picture. I would give it a 48 out of 60. I learned that you need to use a tripod to take the pictures. It will reduce the shakiness.

I took all of my pictures. I took my pictures over the weekend. I have all of my picture today. I will have all my pictures by the end of the hour.

Journal - What are you planning on doing for your stop-motion animation video? What story are you going to tell? How will your video be fun and different? Who is taking your photos? When are you taking your photos?

I am going to draw on a piece of paper. I will draw a little bit at a time. The story will tell a boy going to school. It will be fun because I'm not a good drawer so the pictures will be funny to laugh at. I will take the pictures. I can take them whenever.

My story will tell LeBron James as a kid until he is an old man. He will go through high school, NBA with the Cavs and then with the Heat.

Journal - What photo editing tool(s) have you used so far on your 5 photos project? Do you like the tool? Is it easy to use? Hard to use? What's good about it? Whats bad about it? Give a detailed review of the tool.

I used clone stamp, paint brush, lasso, crop, and paint bucket. I like the tools. They are pretty easy to use. Not hard. Its fun and useful. It can get complicated. The clone stamp tool move objects to the place you want them. You first hold control on the source and then click and hold on where you are putting it. Its easy once you get the hold of it.

Journal - What are the pros and cons to photo editing? What are some examples of when photo editing is fun and appropriate? When can photo editing be inappropriate or too much?

Some pros are that you can make things the way you want them to look and it's fun to do. Some cons are that it can be noticeable if your not a "master" at it. If you were photo editing to make something about you better it would be noticeable. If you were to make something change colors or add something cool to a picture. If you are trying to make someone look fat and get made fun of when they really aren't fat.

Journal – What is your favorite web tool that we have used in class so far this year? Why is it your favorite web tool? What do you like about it? How can you use it again in the future?

My favorite web tool was Google Drive because it was very easy to use. I like that it's simple to create new projects and folders. I can use it for everything from school to taking notes whenever I might need to. I might also use it in the real world, like making a presentation.

My weekend was fun. All I did was play video games and did homework. I do this a lot of weekends and it makes them go by a lot faster.

Journal - What did you learn from the Ted Talk yesterday? Did you find it interesting or accurate? Explain.

I learned yesterday from the Ted Talk that technology is taking control of our lives. Technology is getting so advanced that it's replacing real time conversations and talking with our phones.  It was interesting because I never thought about technology like that before. It was accurate for a lot of people but not everybody. Everybody has a different kind of addiction but most people have a technology addiction because it's so easy and fun.

Journal - What do you love about the "digital age" that we currently live in? What do you dislike about it? What are positives ways you use technology in your life? What are some things that come along with technology that you don't like? Explain.

I like the digital age because it is easy to get information for sports and school projects. If your curious about something or are wanting to learn something new, the internet is perfect for it. I dislike how its sometimes confusing on how to use it. I use it to get research for my school projects. There is cyber bullying and negative feedback on things you do.

Journal - Tell me about your Homecoming weekend (whether you went to the activities or not!). Tell me about what you did over the weekend.

I did not go to Homecoming last weekend. I didn't have anyone to go with and I would rather stay at home and play video games. I played video games too much because my parents didn't tell me to get off and I might of lost track of the time. On Sunday night however I realized I should do my homework so I did it. That was my extremely exciting weekend.

A infographic is kind of like a poster on a topic or subject that is used to give off information to inform or sometimes convince people on an idea. Infographic are vertical posters that are a lot taller than wider in size. Infographics are sometimes used by businesses and used on their websites.

I have absolutely nothing planned for the weekend. Probably the only thing I will do is play GTA 5 and do homework. I will probably go golfing at Iron Horse too if the weather is good enough.

Journal - Most students view siting work as 'a pain in the butt'. How do you feel about it? Is it necessary? When is it appropriate to cite work? What's the importance of it?

I think it is important to cite so your not taking credit for someone else's work. It is necessary. It is appropriate to cite on research projects and anytime you take information from a book or site. It's important so the author gets credit for their work.

My favorite magazine is Sports Illustrated because I enjoy reading about sports.

Journal - Do you enjoy writing? What kind of writing do you enjoy? Why is writing an essential skill in life? How will you use this skill in the future?

I do not enjoy writing in most cases. The only time I will enjoy writing is when it is fiction. I like fiction because it's all made up and you can type and type without stopping because there is nothing set in stone of what you have to write.  Writing is essential because it's another way of communication. It's just like talking, if your not speaking clearly or making sense no one will know what your saying, if you write something that doesn't make sense or is in bad hand writing no one will know what your saying either. I will use this skill in emailing important people and for English Language Arts.

Journal - What is creating an outline for a paper important? Do you think it helps you personally? How would you prefer to outline a paper - pen and paper or an online tool? Is there a different way you know if that would prefer to organize your thoughts?

It's important to create an outline so your not making up the project "on the spot". It helps me to make an outline so that I know exactly what to say when to say it. I prefer to make my outline on pen and paper because I can make it faster and it's easier to edit. Bullet points and your brain.

Journal - Tell me about your weekend. Where did you go? What did you do?

On Saturday I had a football game at Bishop Miege which is like 30 minutes away. It started at 11 and I got back at 2 somehow. We should of won but we lost 22 to 30. The refs screwed us over with two, maybe three game changing calls that weren't in our favor. On Sunday I went out to breakfast at FirstWatch, it's where the old BlockBuster used to be. Then I went home, watched the Chiefs game. Next I went to a friends house, ate pizza and watched more NFL. I came home and did my homework for about an hour. Then I watched Miss America, I wanted Miss Kansas to win so bad but then Miss New York won and it ruined the rest of my night.

Journal - Who do you look up to in life? Why? What have they done to help you or guide you?

I look up to my dad. My dad is always there for me and if I have a question I know I can ask him. He is always helping out with football and school. He gives me more self confidence also. I know that he will help me out with big problems in the future even if I don't come to him for help.

Journal - What is good email etiquette and why is it essential in the "real" world? How can having good email etiquette put you ahead?

Good email etiquette is being formal and easy to read. It would also be helpful a lot of times to get straight to the point and not to type a story if your asking for resources. It is essential in the "real" world to have the ability to write good emails because it would help the client more and possibly make the client like you more. Having good email etiquette can put you ahead because it will possibly make the person think you are smarter than you might actually be.

Journal - If there was one big global issue in the world that you could fix, what would it be? A cure for cancer? Save the rain forest? Stop pollution? Think about it and then write about it. Why would you choose that specific issue?

If I could fix a global issue in the world I would find a cure for cancer because my grandma had breast cancer but survived through chemotherapy. There are so many people that have cancer anyway and die from it which is sad because you can't prevent it. It's a family thing, you get it through your genes, so that means my mom and sister will probably get it too. It has affected her so much and I hope humans don't have to go through it for the rest of eternity.

Journal - On Friday we discussed Public Service Announcements. In your own words tell me what they are and what their purpose is. If you could create a PSA what would your topic be? Why?

A PSA is a commercial or advertisement that is trying to convince someone of an important issue, it is broadcasted on TV or the radio. If I could make a PSA I would make one for safe driving because I'm just starting to drive. I would want everyone to make smart choices on the roads so I don't die.

Journal - What are your hobbies and extra curricular activities? Where do you spend your free time? Tell me three of your favorite things (movies, TV show, magazine, sport, color, etc.)

I play football for the school and rec basketball with my friends. I also golf in my free time at Iron Horse. I usually spend my free time in my room or at Walmart with my friends but with football having 3 hour practices every day and homework I only get free time on the weekends. My favorite movie is Alien because if you saw it you would agree, my favorite sport is basketball because I really don't care what happens(I'm not really that competitive) and my favorite magazine is Sport Illustrated because they have articles I will actually read.

Journal - What are some qualities of a good presentation? How can you make a boring presentation interesting? Explain.

A good presentation would have qualities that would keep the audience engaged and thinking. It would also be good to interact with the audience so that they have more to do than just listen to you. You can make a boring presentation interesting by being enthusiastic and may be over acting it to be entertaining. Any presentation can be interesting with the right words and presenter(s).

Journal - Tell me if you agree with this statement and then explain why or why not. "Images on the internet are 'free game' - if someone posted I should be able to use it."

I agree on some levels. If someone posts a picture you should ask for permission to use it and what ever you are using it for you need to say where you got it from and from who. If all the pictures on the internet were "free game" there would be no need for photographers, anyone could just take a picture with their phone and call it good. Basically you need to cite your sources and let other people have credit for what they did.

Journal - What is the importance of online safety and protecting your information? What do you do to protect yourself online? Share an experience you or someone you know has had with online safety.

It is important to be safe online because it could affect your real life also. If you give away information of where you live someone could find out that you don't want them to and they could come to your house. To protect myself online I don't post anything too personal like locations and ages and stuff like that and I also make sure that nobody can just look and find where I live. I have never had anything happen to me with online safety.

Journal - Tell me what you know about Web 2.0. List example Web 2.0 sites. Are you on any sites that let you “post” information? What are those sites? How often do you use them? What do you post on them?

Web 2.0 are sites that let you post information on them. Twitter, YouTube, Vine, Instagram, Google +, Blogger, Snapchat, MySpace, Pinterest and Facebook are all Web 2.0. I use some Web 2.0 sites, YouTube, Snapchat and Twitter are the only ones I use. I use them when ever I'm bored or waiting for something. I post comments on YouTube videos and on Snapchat I just send pictures to my friends.

Journal - After watching the short clip of Ashton Kutcher's acceptance speech what did you take away from his advice? What does this quote mean to you -"Everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you, and you can change it, you can influence it, you can build your own things that other people can use."

After I saw Ashton Kutcher’s speech, I thought about what it meant when he said that “Everything around you that you call life was made by people no smarter than you”. He means that anyone can do anything they set their mind to, if that’s making something or being good at something. Everything man made was created by someone or a group of people who all worked hard to get there and kept working hard when they were there. What I took away from the speech was that more people will probably like you if you are a hard worker and are smart. If nobody worked hard then there would be no computers or cars or roads to drive on, so working hard is essential to keeping the world "up to date”.
